About Us

James Haskins, president of Pioneer Landscaping, Inc. started the business 26 years ago.  After graduating from Central CT State University in New Britain, CT with a B.S. degree in Marketing, he spent three years working in small business sales.  It was then that he began to consider the possibility of owning and operating a landscaping business – which is the industry he worked in during his high school and college years.  

James already had years of experience in lawn maintenance, working for E. E. Salvas Landscaping, Inc., of Monroe, CT.   In the spring of 1984, he began operating his own lawn care business in the name of Pioneer Landscaping.   

In addition to his landscaping experience, James has taken horticultural courses in plant biology, arboriculture, and landscape design at The Bartlett Arboretum in Stamford, Connecticut.  He also has attended courses in pesticide application through the State of Connecticut.
